We ask you to take a short survey that asks questions about pain you have at the end of your residual limb (stump), and also asks you about phantom pain in the area of the amputated limb. The survey takes about 15 minutes. The survey is anonymous. No personal information will be obtained. We will use the survey information to gain insights regarding amputee pain, and to later see if therapies such as medicines, therapy, or surgery can improve these levels of pain.
If you are an amputee either above the wrist or the ankle, we are interested in the amount of discomfort that you feel.
Chronic localized pain is the pain felt at the end of the amputated limb (stump) when it is touched.
Phantom limb pain is the pain, discomfort, or feeling that your amputated limb is still present, or burns, or has an uncomfortable position.
